- You may not need a POS machine. A Windows computer you already own can run the till.
- The price you see is the price you pay. Add it to your cart and check out — no back-and-forth needed.

A receipt printer helps if customers need printed receipts. A barcode scanner helps if products arrive with barcodes. A cash drawer helps keep cash organised.

Pay now by mobile money, or pay on delivery/pickup if you would rather settle up in person. Either way, cancelling before it ships costs nothing.

Hardware questions
Do I need a special POS machine?
No. Stem runs on an ordinary Windows computer, and the web till runs in a browser. A dedicated machine is only useful if your current computer is not suitable for the counter.
Can I use hardware I already own?
Usually, yes. Stem supports standard 80 mm ESC/POS receipt printers over USB or a local network, common barcode scanners and cash drawers. Tell us what you have and we will help you check before you buy anything else.
Can I cancel an order?
Yes, anytime before it ships or is ready for pickup, at no cost, if you chose pay on delivery. If you paid by mobile money, tell us before it ships and we will arrange a refund — mobile money has no automatic refund, so that step is manual.
