How much does a POS system cost in Uganda?
Stem POS costs nothing to start: the Free plan gives one user offline retail selling, stock, the credit book, shifts and the day’s report, with no expiring trial. Paid plans are USh 20,000 a month for Basic, USh 55,000 for Standard and USh 100,000 for Premium, billed monthly by MTN or Airtel mobile money. You can change plan at any time from inside the app.

Every plan includes Stem POS for Windows and Stem POS for web at no extra cost, with no per-device licence. You pay for the store, not the number of machines. Plans are billed monthly and can be changed or cancelled at any time from inside the app.
How do I pay for Stem?
By mobile money, MTN or Airtel, and it is automatic. You choose your plan and enter your mobile money number, a payment request arrives on that phone, and you approve it with your mobile money PIN. The plan activates on its own the moment the payment goes through. There is nothing to copy down, no transaction ID to send us and no waiting for someone to approve it by hand.
No card is required, and nothing needs a foreign payment method or a bank account.

How much does Stem POS cost?

How do I pay for Stem?

The limits are people and restaurants: no extra staff logins, and no kitchen tickets, modifiers, recipes or table service.
Can I try a paid plan before paying?
Yes. Every paid plan can be started as a 30-day free trial from inside the app, once per account, with no card. If you do not continue after the 30 days the workspace pauses (you can still see everything, but not sell) until you pay — so if you only want the Free plan, start on Free rather than on a trial.
Can I change or cancel my plan?
Yes. Plans are monthly and you can change them at any time from inside the app. A downgrade takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for, so you never lose time you paid for.
Do I have to pay for Stem POS on Windows?
No. Stem POS for Windows is a free download and the installer is complete, so there is nothing else to buy and no per-device licence. What you pay for is the plan your store is on, not the number of machines you install.
What happens if my subscription lapses?
You get four days of grace after the end date, with reminders twice a day if you chose automatic renewal. If it is still unpaid after that, the workspace pauses: you can still see everything, but the till and the apps stop taking new sales until you pay. Nothing is deleted, and paying restores it at once.
