Stem legal
Delete a Stem account
You can start deletion here without signing in. Because a business workspace can contain tax records, staff accounts and records belonging to other people, we verify identity and authority before acting.

What each choice means
- My user account: removes your access and personal account profile. It does not automatically delete a business workspace owned by someone else.
- A staff account: an authorised owner or administrator can request removal of that person’s access and profile.
- Entire workspace: closes the business workspace and affects every connected account, device and operational record. Only a verified owner or authorised representative may request it.
- Specific personal data: lets a person request access, correction or deletion without closing the whole business.
Before you delete
- Export records the business must keep, including sales, stock, credit, invoice and tax records.
- Allow enrolled devices to finish synchronising and resolve outstanding conflicts.
- Cancel an Apple App Store or Google Play subscription in the relevant store account. Account deletion does not cancel store billing.
- Settle unresolved invoices, refunds, hardware orders or disputes.
Verification and timing
We use the account contact and may ask for the workspace slug, recent account activity or proof of authority. We never ask for your password or PIN. We confirm the scope before an irreversible workspace deletion.
We acknowledge the request and explain next steps after verification. We aim to complete an eligible deletion within 30 days. We tell you if legal retention, a dispute, security investigation, complex workspace ownership or another lawful reason requires a longer period.
What may remain
Stem deletes or de-identifies data that is no longer needed. We may retain transaction, invoice, tax, contract, fraud-prevention, security or dispute records where law requires or permits, using them only for that purpose. Protected backups expire through their normal rotation and are not returned to routine use.
Public receipt-verification data may be restricted or removed except where a business or legal record must remain. Aggregated information that can no longer reasonably identify a person may remain.
